The Quick Summary
Opening in late 2006, Fat Bet Poker has some catching up to do if it wants to be amongst the top sites in the online poker market. And one way they've managed to get a kick start is by offering a massive 50% rakeback (http://www.shipmyrake.com/rakeback/25339/Fat-Bet-Poker.html) to new members. The software isn't great but it's simple looks and simple navigation does just fine. Anyway, what does it matter when the players rival the fishiness of PKR? The site also provides you with a Flash Player so that you can play without downloading or running programs (good for easy access on other computers).
Fat Bet Poker has a great FPP system where you can trade the FPPs for tickets in online or land based tournaments (such as WSOPE) with the FPPs alone.
Traffic: Poor (2/5)
Being a relatively new site, few people have heard of Fat Bet Poker. If you're looking at playing stakes up to €0.50/€1.00 then you'll be fine finding a table here. If you play higher levels then you might struggle getting any full ring games. Low traffic means less tournaments with less guaranteed money. MTTs are definitely not FB's strong point but they do offer some great freerolls.
Player Competition: Easy (2/5)
The site is full of fish trying to complete rakeback races or just playing because they can't refuse a 50% rakeback offer (http://www.shipmyrake.com/rakeback/25339/Fat-Bet-Poker.html). The lack of tables keeps the 16-tablers at bay and so racking up some good stacks at a couple of 6max games is easy.
Site Software: Simplistic but Good (3/5)
Although the software is simplistic looking and both using; it does its job. The tables only have two sizes like iPoker - "Mini View" and normal. The client runs quickly and smoothly and is complimented by the flash player on the Fat Bet website. The beauty of the flash player is that it gives you the opportunity for a quick game as long as you have access to the internet.
Customer Support: Excellent (4/5)
You can get support through e-mail and instantly via the telephone 24hrs a day. The site replies to e-mails as soon as possible and almost immediately if traffic isn't too high.
Overall Review: Good (3/5)
If you're looking to multi table on a large scale then this site is not for you. But if you're looking for easy players, an unbelievably good rakeback (http://www.shipmyrake.com/rakeback/25339/Fat-Bet-Poker.html) and somewhere just to play poker, then Fat Bet Poker is right up your street. The aesethitics aren't great and the traffic is slow but with rakeback to make anyone a winning player and fish to make anyone a millionaire, it doesn't matter.
