Two good friends and well known pokerplayers going head-to-head. No, we're not talking about another propbet between Antonio Esfandiari and Phil Laak in "I Bet You", but this time it's the Danes that get the attention. Gus Hansen and Theo Jorgensen will be fighting each other, in a boxing ring!

The fight will take place on Februari 21 in Copenhagen, and if Hansen wins, he'll receive $25,000 from Theo Jorgensen, if Jorgensen wins, he'll get $35,000 from Gus Hansen (Gus thinks he has an edge because he's younger and in better shape than Theo). Obviously it's not just about the money, the prestige is worth a lot more to these guys. Theo already stated, due to Gus' shadow-boxing celebrations at a victory on the pokertable: "Gus was such a pathetic boxer that I was pretty sure I could beat him". He has also hired well known boxing instructor Poul Duville.

Gus Hansen on the other hand hired Johnny de Lima, who had been boxing on the 1988 summer Olympics and is now professional boxing trainer. Gus is really looking forward to the fight: "Beating up Theo in boxing will be much more enjoyable than winning over him in poker. The sweet taste of victory cannot even be made up in terms of money." As said, it will take place on Februari 21, which is during the final day of the EPT Copenhagen. To watch the match, you'll have to pay 249 DKK (about $43) to see it in the KB Hallen in Copenhagen, or you can watch it free on Gus TV

A video of Theo Jorgensen training for the match can be found here (it's in Danish tho). Of course, there is also the possibility to place bets on who will win the match, according to Nordic Bet, Theo Jorgensen is the clear favorite to win it. So, who's your personal favorite?

Well...although Hansen is probably my favourite poker player and a wiry bastard with it, I think Jorgensen is probably going to win this particular HU.
