Anyone here bet on horses? My dad likes to and he seems like he knows what he is doing.

I always use to go with my dad when i was small to the horse track. But i would be in the arcade room =P . And my dads boss/friend races his own horses so we go down to the track every week and watch his horse. I don't see how you could make any real good money off it unless your actually part of the race yourself meaning you own the horses and what not.

I only bet on horses once - during the Melbourne cup last year. And my horse won. LOL! I had no experience choosing horses, and the one that won had odds 18 - 1. Wee!

The only time I ever bet on a horse race I was with a friend, had no idea what I was doing, and bet on horses that had names I liked. I somehow managed to get first and second place right, and they had TERRIBLE odds!!

That was a good day.

I don't do horse gambling online, though I guess it would be one of the most difficult to rig!!

This is one betting that is the most random. You never know its like rolling a die

i pity on these creatures... they are better left alone

Its an accepted part of the sport and its why it draws such big crowds. I don't personally do it but I know if they killed the gambling aspect, the whole sport would pretty much crumble and collapse.
