I went all in... :(

This took place in a club, I was there for about 4-5 hours playing texas holdem with a few guys.

I didn't bet that heavy and one guy knocked out all of them except me. He had about 3 times as many chips as me, but I was just waiting for the right hand...

I couldn't remember what the river cards were exactly, but I had a 2 pair. And I went all in... The river had MANY low cards. After sitting there studing all the cards, I just felt like he couldn't have anything better then a pair.

I went all in...

After I did, he went all in when he had way more chips, I was getting nervous. Since he called my bet. We revelead cards and it turns out he got LUCKY and had a PERFECT straight.
I lost over $250

This will show you kids NOT TO GAMBLE

You NEVER go all in! Never! You make sure you can go on to the next hand. If you wait it out it can only get better. I dont throw all my chips in over a 2 pair. I throw all but 5 chips in when I got a straight. You never know what the other guy has and this just goes to show you.

Better luck next time!

No, thats a wrong assumption. If you know he has a straight draw, you want to go all in and make him pay. You have heavy odds over him at that point. However, if there are already three connectors or 4 connectors on the table, then you don't want to go all in at that point.

All in sometimes can work, but I would not risk it if you have ALOT of chips, all depends on the people your playing, what you have in your hand etc.

That is why you will always see me going on and on about never going all in even if you think you have the best hand possible because you can always lose somehow.
