Live deals same as online deals

So, I was up late 2 nights ago and happened to see a Pokerstars Televised Tournament. Can't remember who was playing but it was covering some of the early rounds. Saw 3 hands that, online would make some people scream rigged.

Hand 1: 55 vs 77 vs 88 yep 3 PPs dealt out and the 88s hit another 8 on the flop

Hand 2: AK vs AQ both players all-in. Q hit's the flop.

Hand 3: AJ vs AK both players all-in. Flop comes K Q T making straight for AJ

So clearly when we skeptics complain that "this sh1t keeps happening" online, it's clearly happening in live games too.

I take this will a little pinch of salt because I realise that what counts is how often these kind of things should happen and how often they do happen both online and live. My example proves nothing but it was interesting to see.

I'd scream RIGGED!! if I was the player who had the 7 or 5's, the AK, AND the AK on all three of those hands.

Who were the players? Was it the same person getting the bad beat, or different?

Hands 2 and 3 were the same guy. Hand 2 decimated his stack and hand 3 looked like he would find his way back in again, so he was gutted to see the flopped straight and bust out of the tourney.

You have to understand that many of these live tournaments and most poker cash game TV shows are simply marketing events. They only exist to sell people on the idea that you can win money playing poker online, because, where else are 99.9% of the people watching TV going to play?

Don't forget that many of the big winners in "live" poker are being paid by the poker web sites. Some of them have received cash payouts of $20 million or more just for being a "site pro". Do you think these guys are going to complain about "bad beats" if they are being paid to take them? Did you ever hear of a boxer taking a dive or a college hoops player shaving points? My feeling is that the WSOP bracelet tournaments are legit because there's prestige and a place in history at stake but for the other ones, the cash game TV shows and random meaningless tournaments, I suspect certain players are getting more money just for sitting down than their expected cash payout. Bad beats? So what? Who is going to listen to the no-name whiner? As long as the big guys, the ones that people look up to, are in on it and keep their mouths shut, nobody is going worry about whether the "live" deck is rigged. Yes, I believe there are shills out there who used to be legit poker players and that the game is fixed on TV just like "20 questions" and other game shows were fixed back in the 50's and 60's (and maybe even until today) i.e. "Quiz Show" the movie.

On what basis are you asserting that televised poker tournaments are using rigged decks? Is this purely an assumption on your part based on the thinking that they need to rig a live deck to generate exciting and entertaining hands to attract people ?

I have gone through you r post. I t was very interesting, These tournaments are very exciting and the riggers of that would be up to that extent. There are some deals which would be up-to that particular field but, The fields like these tournaments must be very strict and severe as we all knows. I would like to thank the members of the forum for promoting the post. Could you provide some more attachments that gives a detailed view about the site.

    Hi Hking

You joined on 27th Jan and you created another account called "Youcoachpoker" on the 1st.

Which of these would you like to keep and which should we remove?
