6 max -how do you adapt?
I remember hearing from a pro six max player that the best advice he ever got in how to adapt your game to 6max is play it like 9max except that the first three people have folded.. What do you guys think?

I think the idea of playing like a 9 handed game with 3 people folded is a bit hard to get your head around. If you're playing 6 handed, there are less hands dealt and less possibilities that someone else is stronger than you. I'm really not sure what you're trying to say when you say "3 people have folded". Elaborate please.

well imagin. what hands would you play if 3 people had folded to you in middle postion, i think this will give you a good preflop playing percentage. Most people get too agreesive in 6max games because they feel they have to become hyper aggressive to compensate for 3 less players. Now dont get me wrong you have to be slightly more agressive but your post flop play has to be almost the same as playing a 10max game.

i always find 6max hard to adapt to, i can play headsup and 9-10 handed well but 6max im not too good at, i hear that alot of money is in 6max now because alot of fish like it cause there is more action. So any tips will come in handy.

It opens up the game so much when you play 70% of hands and raise 70% of the time preflop. Iv actually made money out of doing that on several occasions just as long as you only committ your stack when you're massive, you play on your loose image, and you know when to fold and not bet into someone slow playing their nuts. |
