Excel Prog for Working out Equity on PP
RIGHT! So i've spent a while doing this very amateur equity calculator for pocket pairs in Excel.
I just want to know if this is at all right or i have gone very wrong somewhere. It's a very rough calculation of the equity you'll gain from shoving with a pocket pair with 10BBs when it has folded around to you. Feel free to decrease the % for hands that stacks will call you with i.e if you are shoving with 15BBs etc. How you use it. 1. You have to search the chart for what pocket pair you have and what position you are in - position 1 is UTG and position 8 is the SB. (The %s are the odds that you have the best hand provided it has folded around to you) 2. Type in the chance you have of winning the hand into the box next to the "HAND" tag. 3. Type in the BB+SB+ANTE into the box next to that. 4. Then find out roughly the stack sizes of the opponents to act after you type it into the appropriate boxes on the left. i.e there's a 6% chance a 50BB stack will have a hand they will call your shove with so if there are 5 players to act and they are all 50BBs then they will call you 30% of the time. 5. Then plug in your stack size and the EQUITY box should show you how much you are looking at making on average taking into account the chance of you losing the hand. This really just shows that there's always equity in shoving with a pocket pair but the table may help you decide what to do with pocket pairs in different positions. You only have a 57% chance of being the best hand if you have pocket 2s UTG for instance. This is really basic and i just did it for a bit of fun. It doesn't take into account position and image o/c. Just play around with it and let me know if it's at all accurate. THANKS! Download it here: http://www.mediafire.com/?jjys4fjjmxt |
