As the old saying goes - Poker takes 5 minutes to learn, but years to master.

Learning is really easy. Just go to wikipedia and seach hold 'em. To master the game, I would suggest reading buttloads of books, play online, and talk about hand analysis with friends/ online.

there are plenty of sites that teach the basics. But it takes alot of time and dedication to be a winning player

Best way to win money, is to play tight and agressive to start with. Play fairly cheap and play decent hands only. don't get sucked in with hands that look pretty such as A4s, they're ok, but don't get carried away with them, you are so easily beaten

The best way to win at poker is to have what you would call a poker face and learn to bluff a lot because even if you have a bad hand you could still squeeze your way to victory.
