Your worst moment in poker

What is your worst ever moment in poker?

I haven't had any really, really bad moments. I was really gutted about getting knocked out of the sunday mill with AA vs KK, that was really gay with how much money is at stake. Also never winning an MTT, live or online. that sucks.

Ok... This is actually a close one. I've been deep in so many tournaments where I've just bottled it at the last few. I.e making a rediculous bluff with 96s against top pair with 13 left in the $8r and $8k to the winner. Although that bluff had huge opportunity cost, I think this is the worst moment in poker for me.

I scraped all that money back and a similar thing happened again, so I'm taking a break.

My most memorable loss happened during a bet a friend and I made. We were trying to see who could turn $100 into $1000 the fastest using a really aggressive bankroll strategy. I was in the lead and if I'd won this hand I would have won the bet. Here's what happened:

It's a 6-max 200NL game and I'm UTG.

I look down and see and raise to $6. I get 2 callers. The pot is now $21.

The flop comes down . I bet out $15.

The first caller thinks, then calls and the second caller instantly min-raises. The pot is now $81.

I smell a flush draw, so I go all-in for roughly $180 more. The first caller thinks, then calls and the last caller calls.

What did they have?
Caller 1:
Caller 2:

Guess what the turn card was? A diamond. Guess who didn't fill on the river? This guy! So sick.

Taking a break is probably a good thing right now pates, with exams approaching etc...

I've had a few very low moments with poker, but none of them compare to a walk back from Nathan's house at 5 in the morning a day or two before the end of last term after i'd taken a beat from Charya to lose what was the very last of any money i had for the foreseeable future. That cold, lonely walk was the worst that poker has ever made me feel, and i don't intend to have it happen again.

Yeah, I'm going to take a break for exams and tilt control. Your moment sounds pretty low mate, I think I had that after busting £100 a years or 2 ago in a matter of minutes.

@Justplaypoker That is certainly a horrible horrible beat. Did you end up making the $1k bankroll in the end? So sick to lose that hand against 2 fishy flush draws. Kick in the teeth to lose the bet as well.

Nope. My buddy ended up winning it. At the time, I was a cash grinder and he worked the MTTs. He went on a good run and beat me. Looking back, I think that bet was what converted me to SNGs and MTTs. It's much easier to take a bad beat when its tournament chips instead of cash.

Lol, dude, no sympathy. If it was money that you couldn't really afford to lose, then you shouldn't have been playin with it in the first place!!!

My lowest moment in poker was when I just had 1 week of badbeats, cold decks, horrible runs and sheer unluckiness! It ended up forcing me into a 1month ban!

The ban did me good though and I came back revitalised with new tactics and a fresh perspective of the game! Which is why I'd recommend a break to anyone who is experiencing similar problems!
