Derren Brown "Predicts" The Lottery

If you haven't seen it already. Derren Brown is a famous British con magician that has managed to convince a large part of the nation that he predicted the lottery last wednesday.

Well anyway, tonight he "explained" how he did it. His explanation involved getting a group of people to "unconciously write numbers" (as if that is even possible in the environment they were in) and surprise surprise, he nailed it on the head. He basically threw maths out the window and turned to some spiritual level where a group of people could guess a 10 million to 1 prediction.

Discuss.

His explanation was insane... I really don't believe it.
Because as you said, it completely throws maths out of the window.

Plusss... He never shows you the numbers that they pick, so they're probably completely different.

Saying this, the man is a complete genius!

****ing BS. His stuff is usually decent and mindboggling. This was just pure lies. None of it made any logical sense.

Although, I'd probably watch next weeks.

It annoys me that the people who he "gave" him the numbers were utterly convinced that they had some magic powers. Infact, one person was so convinced he even told the camera how great a team they were.

p.s. you can't unconciously write numbers... that part was also bs.

He's really let himself go, and he's gonna get slated big time for this. Because his shows are usually awesome. If he didn't want to explain it, he shouldn't have made the show.

Also, why didn't he place the numbers on the screen before the draw occured? Surely it'd have made no difference to anything. Would have validated his method entirely on the contrary. So feckin rigged.

Exactly. His advert was entirely misleading. He cannot say for one moment that he explained what he did on wednesday. And if he does, he's a ****ing liar.

It probably doesn't help that I'm incredibly cynical, but this was utter bull****.
