I don't really see how the fact his writing is a bit crap has any bearing on anything. Or how the fact he hand writes letters to the families of soldiers is somehow seen as being disrespectful. Would they prefer a signed printed letter saying
.... I am very sorry for the loss of you son/daughter [delete as appropriate]...

I think this would certainly be more efficient.

Don't get me wrong, I think it's great that Gordon Brown goes out of his way to hand write these letters. I don't know of any other world leader that does this. But I was just a bit shocked about his hand writing.
