Post up your Online Poker Stations!!

well a few weeks back I bought a sweet video card for my computer as well as a second, widescreen monitor just to play around with.

then two days ago I bought a digital camera with my poker winnings - so I figured Id show off my new setup.

Sick set up. Now you just need a third one! Infact, I've always wanted to get a duel monitor but looks a bit odd unless you have a desktop (liking PIR up in the background! :wink

You can start 6-tabling now I know James has a duel monitor with his laptop and it's pretty damn sweet.

This guy has a pretty awesome set up. I know I've seen someone with something like 4 monitors but these two are HUGE! (and check out the racing chair).

Nice bunch of set ups guys, I know you dont own that one platefish but still sweet. I dont play enough poker to make use of these sort of monitors. i plan on getting a dual monitor when i start trading more in the stock market.

ok...basically you are making a "web image" that will just be covering the secondary monitor

first off set your wallpaper to "none". it should just be the color of the desktop after you do that...apply it.

then right click on your desktop and go to PROPERTIES.
then click the DESKTOP tab.
then click the CUSTOMIZE DESKTOP button.
then click the WEB tab.
then click the NEW button on the right hand side of the screen.
you will see a "BROWSE" option - click it and find the wallpaper you want to be on the secondary monitor.
once youve selected it, and hit OK, it will appear on your desktop somewhere as a window.
drag the window onto the secondary monitor screen and move your mouse to the top of the image - a title bar will appear when you put your mouse over it.
click the maximize button on the top right side of the image (you might have to move it around to find the top right corner) and it should expand to the size of the secondary monitor.

then go back into properties > desktop > customize desktop and click the box that says "lock desktop items". apply it.

then go back into properties > desktop and pick the wallpaper you want for your primary monitor.

BOOM youre done.

i know its a little complicated so if you have questions lemme know.

How much should i be looking at paying for a 20" monitor? I know in America prices are quite different but is there a rough guide to how expensive it is? I could really do with one for when im playin lots and lots of poker

in my opinion anythign above 19" is a waste unless you use your monitor for watching TV and/or movies all the time.

i mainly play counterstrike and online poker, so 19 is about perfect.

you want as low a REFRESH RATE as possible. the one i just bought is 5ms, but the new ones are 4ms and 3ms.
dont get anything above 5ms.

contrast ratio is for vividness of color. i got 8000:1, which is above average, but there are ones that have 13000:1 or something to that effect.

i paid $169.99 USD with free shipping for this monitor - it was on sale from newegg.com.
it was a pretty good deal.

the high end monitors with 3ms or 4ms rrs are like $250 and up.
