Top 5 Films

1. The Rock.
2. Jurrassic Park.
3. Forgetting Sarah Marshall
4. Memento
5. Armageddon (just good honest fun)

I'll probably make some changes to these 5 when I remember ones that I've forgotten! But let's hear your favourites

this isn't even vintage here - how can two of you have the departed in your top 5 when a) the original Hong Kong Infernal Affairs was at least 4.5 times as good and b) you don't have another Scorsese film in your top 5? Sure, the only real industry award he's won in America was for the Departed, but he's been criminally overlooked his whole career, the Departed Oscars were just a consellation.

Anyways, we had a similar discussion in the pub earlier, and dealt out a lot of criticism on other people's top 3 films. I wont go through everyone's here, but Tom, you clearly need to stop watching those blockbusters

1. Withnail and I
2. The Usual Suspects
3. Goodfellas
4. Apocalypse Now
5. American Beauty

It's very hard for me to actually narrow it down properly, but the next five candidates would be

=6. 2001 A Space Odyssey
=6. Belle Ville Rendez Vous
=6. Full Metal Jacket
=6. Sideways
=6. Evil Dead II

If Band of Brothers was made into a single film, ten hours long, it would be number one by a trillion miles.

Uh oh. I'd only put Lock Stock + 2 Smoking Barrels into that:

1) The departed
2) American History X
3) Lock Stock
4) The Dark Knight
5) The matrix

the original Hong Kong Infernal Affairs
I've heard a lot of people chatting about that film. I'll check it out at some point but I'm sure the acting wouldn't be up to the star studded cast of The Departed.
