What poker sites accept US/American players? [UPDATE: April 2013]
Hi all,
While I'm pretty sure online poker will be widely available to US players at some point soon, I just wanted to know how american people can play online poker and what/if any poker sites accept US citizens? Or even if it's just possible? Is it possible for us guys in the USA to play poker on the internet?
Thanks for your help in advance!
UPDATE: I just saw another thread here saying that Carbon Poker is now the #1 online poker site for US players.

Hey Sofa, I'm from the US so I was pretty pissed last year on Black Friday when it became very difficult for me to gamble even at just $0.01/$0.02. I'd also like to know how I can play online poker???
I don't want to play anywhere illegal or somewhere that might get shut down, but please let me know if anyone knows any poker sites that accept American players!

Very good question. In fact someone asked this a few months back and there are a few sites that allow US players to play online poker.
Now I don't pretend to understand the American legal system or why online poker is banned in the States so I couldn't say for sure that depositing is completely safe. But what I do know is that Carbon Poker allows US deposits and has been running fine since poker's black Friday last year. I'd say it's a pretty safe option but that's just an opinion.
My only advice would be not to deposit too much as it could be risky. If you do want to deposit a lot then just make sure you withdraw winnings quickly so that they don't get tied up. Good luck!
EDIT: We've created a page for US Poker Sites here on pokerisrigged.com.

I've signed up to Carbon Poker and I'm able to play without any problems, thanks for posting that up Pates - I can finally play poker in the US without having my basic freedoms restricted.
For anyone else that is worried, I was also able to withdraw from Carbon Poker within a week after testing out a small deposit and withdrawal. All seems to be working well. I have to say if you're looking for what sites to play poker on if you're from the United States then you probably shouldn't look any further than this place. In fact I'm pretty sure nearly every US poker player made the switch to Carbon following poker's black Friday last year - so the site is absolutely buzzin.
UPDATE: Just been able to make my second withdrawal to the US. All looking good.

I'd just like to add to this thread now that we're a few months on. We've had a lot of members sign up at Carbon, they have deposited and withdrawn without any problems - while I can't confirm that playing online poker from the US is legal, and whether the poker sites that accept US players are legal - the fact of the matter is that people in the United States are able to play poker online with Carbon Poker.
Good luck at the tables everyone - maybe one day Americans will be able to spend their money as they please without having to hunt for poker-player-accepting-websites!

Does anyone play on the Winning Poker Network at all? From looking around i see they have a few skins alot of who seem to be tied to US sportsbooks.
The ones i found are: Bookmaker Poker
BetDSI >>> sister site of bookmaker
BetCris >>> seems to be another sister site of bookmaker
(these are all US facing betting sites afaik).
The others I found are: Americas Card Room
Blackchip (ex Merge skin from what i've read)
True Poker
Who would people here recommend out of the above sites? Also, how's traffic for small stakes sitngos on the network? I usually play $1-$10 games and cash games up to $0.25/0$0.50.

5Dimes are another skin on that network who also run one of the most popular betting sites in the USA. I don't know much about their poker operation but their sportsbook is one of the top 3 options in the United States right now.
