    Pacific Poker Review

    Pacific Poker

Once known for their horrible software and equally horrible players, Pacific Poker has repackaged their poker platform to provide a tolerable and profitable poker room at which to play online poker. This means players looking to own the cash tables of Pacific Poker can now do so easier, thanks largely in part to the upgraded Pacific Poker software.

With better software, a unique bonus scheme that provides instant bonus money on deposits, and horrible players, Pacific Poker has re-established themselves as one of the better poker rooms on the internet for a serious poker player to turn a ton of profit.

    Software Quality and Graphics

In the past, the software for Pacific Poker has been abysmal. It was definitely one of the poker rooms that were often avoided due to this single fact. Recently, however, they have greatly improved the system. The new software that Pacific Poker offers provides you with a pretty solid platform to work from and has 3-D avatars. The software is more resource-intensive than some of the other poker rooms around. However, poker players using an older PC will not have trouble running the poker room at Pacific Poker. Poker players can still run iTunes, have AIM open, many browser windows, poker windows, and other things open at the same time without experiencing much lag in the games at Pacific Poker. Menus will lag but this seems to be common with most poker rooms.

Another great thing about Pacific Poker is that they offer great options for players with less standard computer options. Pacific Poker players have the option to play a Java-based version of the game from within your browser as well as Windows and Mac versions of the standalone client. This gives players a great deal of flexibility in how they access the Pacific Poker client.

    Bonuses and Promotions

Pacific Poker gives players a great first deposit bonus. They will deposit match 100% up to $400 and, as if that is not good enough, they give you 25% of the bonus up front. Most other poker rooms make you play for your deposit bonus but almost none of them offer you the option to get some of it up front, which puts Pacific Poker a step ahead of the rest. Additionally, every Friday at 8PM, Pacific Poker holds an impressive $50K first depositors challenge poker tournament. In this tournament, all newly depositing players to Pacific Poker compete in a freeroll satellite where the top twenty players win a spot in the Pacific Poker Sunday Challenge, which guarantees a prize pool of $50K.

    Poker Games

The games and competition are, for lack of a better word, loose. One of the biggest, perhaps the biggest, reasons to play at Pacific Poker is the fact that the majority of the players are outright horrible at best. If you are looking for action and taking money from people who are desperately trying to give it away, the low stakes tables at Pacific Poker are a great place for you to be.

The one downside to this is the fact that because they are so terrible, they will sometimes do things that will leave you sitting there wondering what just happened. Overall, it is a great thing but it can be frustrating at times. You are not going to find the sort of high stakes games at Pacific Poker that you will at one of the other major poker rooms, but you are not going to find the same kind of players either. The blinds range from $.01/$.02 to $75/$150, though the high stakes games are extremely few and far between.

The Verdict: Pacific Poker is Not Rigged

The new and improved software takes Pacific Poker from unplayable to pretty good today. The games at Pacific Poker are licensed and regulated by the government of Gibraltar, which means the poker games at Pacific Poker are not rigged.

While you are not going to find an abundance of high stakes game and certainly will not find strong competition at Pacific Poker, you will find plenty of people who want you to have their money. If you are looking for a poker room with $1/$2 tables populated with people who cannot throw their money away fast enough, you might want to check out Pacific Poker.

This poker site is good and nice software but freeroll tournaments are full packed of registrations. I mean, a single freeroll tournament have 10000 registrants.

Freerolls attract tons of players more often than not. The best option you have is trying to find ones that are private but have the password readily available.
