What do you do here?

This hand happened about a week ago in a a 27 man $10. We were 4 handed at the time (I think - maybe 3 handed) Doing HH and stack sizes from memory but its about right.

BB = HERO = Stack: 5000
SB = VILLAIN = Stack: 7000
Blinds 200/400

CO & BTN fold.
SB calls 200
BB checks [ ]
Flop [ ]
SB checks
BB checks
Turn []
SB checks
BB bets 600
SB calls
River []
SB checks
BB bets 1300
SB raises to 4000 and is all in

Discuss.
(As far as suits go, I think that the flop was rainbow and the turn gave a 2 card flush)
Still cant beleive bridge thought it was a sit and go. freak of medic nature.

Well...it's possible vill could have the case 9, or even have been slowplaying a boat. But I think HU in this situation, having committed nearly half your stack, you've got to shove it in and leave the rest to the vagaries of fate. I'd put you as maybe 60/40 to be ahead, though I would have to know how vill had been playing to make a decent judgement.

No straight and I'm guessing there's no flush out as you would've probably remembered. I think it's just standard all in and cold deck if you're behind. No way can you check call the river. Not sure what his range is for completing the SB, Q7/Q2 don't make sense here cus of river counterfit. 97/9T/98/Q9/TJ/QJ/22/QT/A7/A2 ... I dunno man, those all seem possible. What happened then?

snappy snappy!
Also entirely agree with the floating out of position thing, it sounds like something Jeremy would do.
I agree, snap call...he probably has a pair or A, anything hoping for a semi-bluff

Maybe I just had a mental crumble but I folded here! I just figured he had to have a better 9, maybe he wouldve lead the turn on second thoughts but I thought what can he check call the turn with then check raise the river?

I thought that if he did have a pair he would just check call the river as its very possible/likely that I have a 9 having bet when it hit then bet the river. And for the same reasons I thought that there was no way he could do this with air.

Basically I tanked it and thought through the hand and couldn't put him on a hand that I am ahead of, apart from a completely insane bluff!

I folded and he shows
wtf?
I said: "wow good bluff"
Although on hindsight maybe he was a donkey playing his 3 pair? Very very wierd hand.

Can anyone see my logic for folding?

It doesn't make any sense why he would make such a **** bluff. Probably just tilted because he got counterfit. Damn it would've been nice to punish him with a call. I can sort of see the logic but after a 1.3k raise I think it's going in with trips HU most days. I think only situations for folding are when there are possible straights and flushes, at the moment the only thing you're worried about is someone holding the case 9 and a kicker higher than 6.

i see your logic here, but i think with half of your stack already commited after he reraises here your priced in to call. If he has a better nine then fair play to him but his line here looks very fishy and doesnt really make sense atall.

I guess his slow play is what hurt you. If he bet his two pairs on the flop like he should have you would have put him on Q, X or Q and another pair making you the leader by far. He slow played the flop and then tilted on the river because it negated his two pair if you had a pocket pair bigger then 2's or a Q by itself.

I think you out-foxed yourself here, the only way he beats you is with a better 9 so the odds are quite slim he holds the last one.
