    Raising/Flatting with position

I think this is where I might be making mistakes in cash games. I think that I 3 bet in position too much, although not a bad idea, I seem to get involved in big pots for no reason with an average hand.

I think that I have just realised that calling may be the better option, as I know that whenever I open the pot from MP with any hand I am always dissapointed/annoyed when someone flats in position because I feel like i've got to play out of position for the rest of the hand.
    What does everyone think?

Also any tips for my cash game is needed! As I probably cba nitting it out for the £3 FO at uni as this will be the only poker i'll be playing, so 10p/20p for 150bb pots it will be with Leicester Uni's finest degeneratives
Still cant beleive bridge thought it was a sit and go. freak of medic nature.

Depends largely on if it is FR or 6max. 3-bet hands where villain might be raising light (when you know how he plays).

I'd reraise a lot of hands on the BTN if raises are coming from the CO and I'm holding a hand like AJ. At the end of the day at 6max, it is very likely that you 88 is the best hand and even more likely that the original raise is with a fairly big range. Calling with 88 and you're going to see overs 80% of the time (if not more) but reraising it and taking it down pre will happen a lot.

Although on full ring I'd almost never 3-bet 88 from the BTN and just generally use it as a set mining hand. Entirely depends who and where the raise is coming from.

Pot control preflop is hugely important as any 3-bet getting called will mean larger c-bets, larger 2-barrels etc etc and can cost you a lot if you're doing it with marginal hands.
