    Rebuys/Addons MMTs...

How the **** are you meant to play it?
It seems to me you just need to keep shoving early on and rebuying so need at least 10 buyins, and then still unlikely to make money back even if you cash.
Tried one today and I didn't cash. Therefore I'm assuming they are all gay

I tried the whole lets be tight at first and not play any hands so no allins, but then you just get left behind on chip count.

    Arse.

Double rebuy first. You can afford to play loose-ish to try and double up then tighten up and play premiums afterwards. I play shove/fold in the $3R. seems to work fine. You need to get to at least 5x a buy ins worth of chips (with double rebuy & add on) and if ive not doubled up by 15 minutes before the rebuy period then I will start shoving any 2 to try and double up. Once you have doubled up tho make sure you keep those chips and try and build by playing premiums! After the rebuy period its just a standard tourney.
Still cant beleive bridge thought it was a sit and go. freak of medic nature.

Lol. For anything up to $5r I double rebuy and then click the auto double rebuy button and shove away exposing all my raggy hands to lose complete respect.

If there are a bunch of people shoving try and get involved with all types of suited connectors that are likely to be live so you can try to triple/quad up. I tend to keep my range fairly tight until the last 15 minutes where any 2 goes really.

As for $11r and above, I try not to go mad (after spending $180 on 1 tournament during my sponsorship to end up with just 3buyin at the break ), so I just double rebuy and play fairly standard poker until the break.

I do pretty much the opposite and play nothing but premiums and raise them big. Either I get lucky and have a few double-ups or I open up towards the end of the rebuy. Will be very different in the SCOOP 1R1A event later though as I don't want to have to rebuy!

I was going to play the SCOOP but I'm busy tonight. Using FPPs to buy into the $109 Main Event and the Sunday Mill. Sweet

Rebuy immediately top off is standard. From there I take a much tighter approach than most. I see who is willing to get it all in lighter(and to what degree) and I call those players lighter. Also, I try to note whether or not players push on raises or callers or both. Sometimes this means limping then folding some weaker holdings that play well postflop. This will sometimes put you in weird spots that you don't normally do. Like say limp calling a lighter pusher all in with a hand like JJ-99 or even lighter if he's pushing with a large majority of his holdings(some people do this to get a bigger stack especially before rebuys end). Then of course always make sure you have money left for the add on. I think the most profitable hour is the next one where everybody typically has huge stacks with respect to the blinds and these players tend to misplay hands more.

A lot of these smaller rebuy tournaments have huge fields especially on Poker Stars. That makes it a huge crapshoot. It's one of those you're probably going to lose money a large majority of the time but once in a blue moon you're going to come up big.

I think this is why you need to push/fold preflop in the rebuy period to make a huge stack. The blind structure isn't too bad but if you get to the break with 5k and don't make much money after that then it'll end up as a shoot.

Its a crapshoot mainly because the field is so large. Regardless of how many chips you accumulate in the rebuy hour you're still going to have to run amazingly godly to do anything major. A good large percent of the prize pool is in the top 3 places. In a field of 1,000 or more people you just aren't going to get one of those spots all that often.
