Icon1 Moorman1's Dad Takes down GUKPT Manchester

The 2009 GUKPT attracted almost 300 players to the G Casino in Manchester. This time the winner was Simon Moorman... the dad of (#1 pocketfives.com player for a period) Chris 'Moorman1' Moorman.

Chris Moorman paid for his dad's seat to the GUKPT as a birthday present. Simon crushed his way through field in only his second live tournament.

Heads-up play was between Moorman and Harri Isomaki from Finland. On the final hand players went all-in, Isomaki had K 8 and Simon A 5. The flop paired up Simon's Ace and gave him the win.

The final results of the event were:

    1. Simon Moorman - £88,630
    2. Harri Isomaki - £54,380
    3. Eddie Lundon - £35,760
    4. Kenny Burke - £23,240
    5. Andy Booth - £17,280
    6. Kevin Holdstock - £14,300
    7. David Maudlin - £11,320
    8. Ed Roger - £8,340
    9. Surinder Sunar - £5,960

Lol, it's so funny he shipped it. He's the best online poker player in the UK and my friend knows him personally. Apparently he's seriously lazy - I saw him at GUKPT Luton and he turned up well over an hour late (I think on day 2 lol). Really decent guy though apparently which is refreshing for a top poker pro.
