    Wsop 09 me

Episode 1 & 2 are on Pokertube now.

Pretty good episodes, Lex Velduis absolutely tears it up in ep2. Great fun, can't wait for the next episodes.
Still cant beleive bridge thought it was a sit and go. freak of medic nature.

i cannot believe the level of rampant stupidity on that table. lex veldhuis deserves a small bit of credit for his plays, but overall it was just a product of terrible poker. he got lucky that no decent players were ever holding hands on his roll.

first off, that german kid shouldnt even be allowed to touch cards. check calling the whole way down, first with flopped two pair on a board with straight and flush draws, and then with tens on a 4 high flop, is ****ing absurd. i mean really. im pretty sure they placed that idiot there solely to donk off chips to cunningham or elezra.

and then that fatass business man, who raises with two queens, and then folds on a board of 8 5 5 8? what the **** is that?

does he really think lex was calling a reraise preflop holding an 8 or 5? and then when he "filled up" on the turn, he would bet the pot?

    what a pitiful display.

the only good thing i will say about lex is that he plays starcraft.

Velduis was pretty entertaining in ep.2, + he would'nt take any needling from Eli which is an achievement in itself.

BUs for me the highlight was Matusow, esp. when he lays down to an open shove on a board VS Dodge, I hate this term but that was massively 'scared poker'.

Mattusows lay down of the Qhigh flush was nitalicious. He must have jst thort knobhead over there has the king or the ace of spades and Im the unluckiest man alive so he will hit WAH WAH WAH Heres a copy of my book! He is probably the biggest bell in the world despite him being a good player I just dislike him. The lil 10 year old who shoved 60 BBs with 76 I was just like :/ $10,000 event.....good one. Worst squeeze ever! Call from k4 was tasty though he has Negreanu's sloppy seconds so gutted for him in life. He was playing silly poker. Though from what was shown he def only bet three streets when he had no hand at all and loved to check when he had hit and let people raise to take the pot. Though Im sure he must have mixed it up more than that or surely as he is showing every bluff they would work it out. Elezra loved giving him a ribbing. Allen Cunningham looked CBA with life. The QQ lad...... awkward. In general not gna lie I did enjoy the episodes. The guy who tried to bluff Doyle was horrible though. Really poor.
The sick thing is I have to call.

Doyle Brunson is losing it. He text his daughter saying "some guy went nuts with a gutshot" ... No Doyle, he had a double gutshot, there's a 100% difference.

I really liked Veldhuis' play, because it is the main event, people will often play scared as shown with the QQ hand.

But @ ROCKART, he called the reraise with 64off suit. So why couldn't he called it with 86off or 57off?

The fact that he showed a load of bluffs I think helped his cause because people think that he is unlikely to bluff again after he knows people know that he's been running bluffs.

It was also massive advertisement which payed off, as he got cunningham (fairly tight player) to stick it in with Q8.

He also made final table of 40k event which had a **** load of very very good players. So credit to him.

Like the call with K4, it was very possible that the guy was tired of getting run over by Veldhuis and was looking to play back (whilst tilting a bit)

As for matusow, he has made a load of deep runs so fair enough I think he knows how to play the tournament, was a big laydown but we only see one hand and he did say "tightest player on the table just moved in" so maybe he had played for like 2 hours with the guy and he hadnt put a chip in post flop. Tbh if he had the guy's range to nut flush/nut flush draw then I like his fold. It was for a lot of big blinds and he had only stuck in like 4k.

Oh and also: Lex Veldhuis = Paulo Costanzo! http://www.imdb.com/media/rm1836746752/nm0182455

^ Agreed about Matusow's laydown. It's pretty bad on the face of it but yes, if he is only looking at being 75% favourite with only a few big blinds committed, it's really not a bad fold. But at the same time I can also see him picturing the commentators going wild when they see him laying down 3rd nuts to nuts.
