    MTT final table strategy help?

Ok here goes, played through a 68 man starting line to get to final 7 on final table (top 5 get paid) im sat on first hand as (88) in the small and big blind are weaker players from another table who give me strong fold equity.3 limpers call the 2k BB this puts pot to 9k im sat in second place chip wise at 19k i all in over the top everyone folds except (aq) hits q on flop and i lose 9k of my chips, this puts me down to 10k chips next hand im dealt JJ i use teh opportunity to make it look like ive tilted and all in again SB and BB folded one caller (aj) hits j on turn and im out in 7th place. Was all inning a good decision on 88 jj> 55% to win and 56% respectively given the pot equity, and position on final table? looking forward to replies BarrattG

Sounds pretty standard, 88 is too tight to fold there and from the sounds of it theres no real play left in the stacks so shoving there is the only move i like and you're never gonna win the tournament without being aggressive and willing to gamble in those spots

Your hands sound pretty standard. I'm shoving 88 all day with your stack and if I go flipping then so be it. Unlucky with the JJ hand but yeah, what actually happened there?

Ul though. Top 5 getting paid seems a bit stingy for a 70 man tournament!

Well its part of theuni poker society, so the maximum buy in allowed is 3£ per head. so uber low stakes, as they arnt allowed to encourage gambling. although 1st place still got 80£
