    Chop Bluffing

Ok so something I've been doing a lot recently is bluffing hands that I deemed to be chopping on the river. It's a great (and fairly safe) way to play your weak holding very strong because you're mostly playing the board. Also, it can turn into a huge value bet when playing against complete tard monkeys.

Didn't Scotty have 99's full of 88's on a 99888 board? I think it was an alright but probably a long run losing call. Think about it, back in those days hero's range is going to have very few 9's and sweet FA 8's in, if he thinks AA is good then he thinks TT is good as scotty would most likely 3bet big pairs. If he thinks TT is good that is because Scotty is bluffing and playing the board himself, at which point if you have half your chips invested it's probably not too awful to call for the chop, DUCY?

So the guy looked like a douche because he was wrong on this occassion, not because his decision was krass. However that being said, I do see a big difference between calling TT and playing the board here as in the former when Scotty is bluffing he wins, whilst in the latter he can only hope for a chop.

People played completely different back then. Very hard to speculate on hands but preflop aggression was pretty much non-existant. From what I hears anyway. Maybe top players like Scotty and Hellmuth would.
