This guy could have a K or a T but as you said it's not likely. He may also have low pockets which might pay a small bet on the river. I'm betting this river and then if he shoves I'm probably bank calling with the justification he has 22/44/99

Why aren't you betting flop? Standard cbet. I defo bet for value on river.

Checking behind on a flop like this every now and then really isn't that terrible. It will get you value from hands that won't call the flop light.

It's a good situation to check the flop really. There are very few hands that have many outs to catch up when we're ahead, the same goes when we're behind & as Plates said there's many hands that are going to potentially call a bet or make a bet on a later street(like a great number of pocket pairs).

As for the river I'm bet/folding. I don't think most opponents are capable of playing 44,22 this badly. Even 99 has to be worried about QJ or a backdoor flush. What hand is really getting value from check shipping on the river that doesn't have you beat? Unless your opponent is either awful and likes to check ship randomly fairly light or is good enough to know you can never have a flush or straight here somehow(unlikely).

I like your analysis of the hand bizkit. I hardly ever cbet 99-QQ type hands when an over coms out. Im more of a loose/passive player postflop with hands like this one, and like to turn my hand into a bluffcatcher.
