Poker Forum by Poker is Rigged

If you din't know online gambling is basically banned here in the USA, and you can only go on off shore sites because the law doesn't apply to them, but does anyone know why this ban was even put into place?

Someone mentioned that its just plan bad to have online gambling because all the degenerates throw there money away. but who have they really stopped? all the degens are all playing on pokerstars or fulltilt, the only people the USA ban scared away are the casual players.

And does anyone else think that the way the owners of Neteller arrest was alittle overboard? where these guys trying to hide? As far as i've seen it looks like they were on a island somewhere having a good time when the FBI came and basically acted like they were a bunch of Cuban drug dealers or something.

I'm sad that online gambling is banned in the US but I still see some sites where you can gamble on poker so I don't understand this situation very well.

If this ban is indeed real, then its because of two reasons:

1. People can't control themselves and are loosing way too much money
2. The government can't really tax winnings and can't track it if people don't report it

I think the 2nd reason is quite stupid because poker winnings should be not taxed. You winning money from someone else that has already been taxed.

Gambling is banned here in Florida, so we have gambling boats, and adult arcades.

Yeah, gambling is banned on land in just about every state except Nevada. There are boats everywhere so the ban might as well not exist. I doubt this ban is real, there'd be a large upcry about it somewhere if it was.

Actually I am glad that it is because my buddy lost a ton of money doing it. He was online for hours doing online poker all the time.

They banned online poker? Like you can't play against others across the world? Or is it just money being exchanged?

I think they banned cos they were receiving lot of complaints from the people who lost. Cmon i never saw future with online gambling poker.

well as far as I'm concerned it is infact good that online gambling was banned coz. . .I have had experince and also heard where sites would just conn u with their oney by first making sure they have a program where u dont win more than once and also they were banned becasue they made more money out of ads and never concentrted on the playesrs. . .
